welcome sur 11
we heard that as of yesterday, all of SUR 11 has been confirmed. that means that there are 24 people scattered all over the U.S. looking up Suriname, trying to figure out what to pack, worrying about which tropical disease they might catch!
on our end, all of the staff and Volunteers have been woking hard figuring out the details of your sites--where you will live, who you will work with. we really can't wait to meet you all--especially the three of you who will be living in our neck of the woods. this is an amazing place and there is good work to be done here.
i woke up in the middle of the night last night thinking about packing tips. just 3 things really: a can opener, a good knife, and a short wave radio. almost everything is available here. or you can have someone send it to you in a care package!
we have lots of books and stories and bottles of Parbo to share here. so, hurry up and get here. we'll have a great time together at the 4th of July party!
